An attempt was made to rob a shop in Rivervalley last Saturday 10 July in the afternoon. A youth entered The Valley Newsagent
shop and tried to rob the shop while brandishing a knife. The thief tried in vain to gain access to the till with no luck.
The youth was in his teens and left the shop when he got no money. The incident happened around three thirty on Saturday.
Garda were quickly on the scene but the culprit escaped. This is the second such attempt in a matter of weeks at the River
Valley shops. The previous attempt was on the bookie office a few weeks ago and again no money was taken.
