New Election Boundaries For Swords Jan. 2011
|
New electrical boundaries have been drawn up for Dublin North to which the Swords area is located. These new boundaries
which were drawn by The Constituency Boundary Commission exclude areas of Swords from the Dublin North election area
and place them into the Dublin West constituency. The Dublin West area primarily consists of Blancherdstown, Castleknock
and Mulhuddard. The areas of Swords which now fall into the Dublin West constituency include, Rivervalley, Highfields,
Ridgewood, St. Margarets and Rolestown.
Well over 90 percent of the people in Dublin West are living in the Dublin 15 area while the remaining10 per cent live
in the Swords area. The upcoming election for 2011 will see a section of the population of Swords voting for candidates
them never voted for before and which they know very little about. There is a real fear that the 10 per cent of the
Swords people who have now fallen into this new area will feel isolated from their newly elected politicians.
The new Dublin West Constituency will now be responsible for Dublin Airport and the New Thornton Hall Prison which
were formally in the Dublin North area.

While the A.I.B take their 40 million bonus wouldn't it be great if the D.A.A employees donated their Christmas payment
to a charity. Over a million euro would really help The Simon Community who look after the homeless around Dublin.

Water Restrictions 9-12-2010
|
Water
services may be cut off from 7pm to 7am from 7/12 until 10/12 by all local authorities in the Dublin area including Fingal
County Council. The reason given is because there is a thaw of snow and ice on the way for Thursday and Friday. Usually when
a thaw happens after such a long period of freezing weather many pipes will burst. This is caused by ground movement as the
temperature rises above freezing and soil and road surfaces expands. The following areas of Swords will be cut on Thursday 9th December. Boroimhe,
Airside, Holywell Nevinstown and Drynam
